About Us

Alliance Coven

Alliance Coven was founded in 2025 by Wendy Seidl, Tina Cotterman, and Austin Goodwin, who also serve as the High Priests. It is a Wiccan based, LGBTQIA+ and poly friendly coven.

Our interpretation of deity is three-pronged: the Lord (sacred masculine), the Lady (sacred feminine) and the Liminal (everything in between and outside of those limited aspects), sometimes also referred to as the God, the Goddess, and the Gateway.

Our tradition also includes an altered version of the Great Rite which is not representative of strictly heterosexual unions.

We founded Alliance Coven to be open and welcoming to all people regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, which we discovered was not easy to find in the Twin Cities. We hope that anyone who is looking for a spiritual community and agrees with our founding principles would feel at home in Alliance Coven.

Wendy Seidl (she/her)

Wendy was raised a non-denominational Christian but always felt like something was not quite right. In 1996, she encountered her first book on paganism and realized what it was – and she became a solitary practicing Wiccan from that day forward and never looked back. She moved to the Twin Cities in 2000 and has lived here since. In that time, she has become a familiar face to the Pagan Community as a Director of Twin Cities Pagan Pride, which she has been a part of since 2004. She is currently the Chair of the Board and the Director of Operations, helping to organize two of the most well-known events held in the Twin Cities area: Paganicon and the Twin Cities Pagan Pride Festival.
Wendy has loved teaching since she was a small child playing school and she has a degree in Education. She started teaching but struggled with the culture and attitudes of a public-school setting, so she returned to school and got her MBA in 2000. She works as an Engineer but still loves teaching, especially when working with people to help them discover their own spiritual paths since she had very little support when first becoming a Pagan. She started teaching classes on Paganism at Magus Books in 2016 as part of another local coven and is excited to continue doing so through Alliance coven. Wendy identifies as Wiccan and follows the goddess Demeter.

Tina Cotterman (she/they)

Tina has always been connected to nature since she was a young child. Her love of the outdoors and the natural world brought her down to the Twin Cities where she got a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Minnesota in the early 1990s. She became a part of another local coven in 2010 and became the High Priestess of this coven in 2015. Tina loves working with energy and shielding and loves exploring the inner connection of the mind, body and spirit. Tina views herself as an eclectic Wiccan who follows Buddhist teachings as well as being a priestess of Lilith.

Austin Goodwin (he/him)

Austin comes to Alliance Coven with over 10 years of group ritual and magickal experience. His passion is teaching those new to the Craft. He believes that everyone he teaches has the power and potential to use the tools of Wicca to transform their lives and uncover their truest selves. He has found that he learns more from his students when teaching than he did when he was a student. He also loves group rituals, and he has been leading and facilitating group rituals for 10 years. He feels he has been blessed to be a part of coven life during his magical journey and has watched the power and transformation that combined magic and collective creates. He is very excited to be joining Alliance Coven and looks forward to seeing the magic that the coven will weave in the years ahead.
